WEEKEND 12 - 13 JULY 14

Just looking at the tidal predictions and they look good for next weekend the 12th and 13th July 2014 for a go on the flats at Bynoe...haven't had a fish there for a while.   So a few of the mob are gathering down at Sand Palms that weekend, for a fish and a 'Churchley Cookup of the Catch' Saturday evening. (Almost sounds religious?)  There are reports that the wind will be easing, but we will believe that when we see it, however, using Graeme the Grey's philosophy..."make the wind your friend", and it is interesting the new spots that you find trying to get out of the wind.

Here are the tidal predictions from Jtides....its interesting also to see that other sites predictions have the low a bit higher than this....time will tell.  Being so High in the morning the water will be right up on the top of the ramp at Milne, so no hurry to launch, and top of the tide around some of the reefs with this flow should get the pelagics going first.

We will be fishing mainly with clousers. White bucktail with synthetic in the centre and good aluminium flash (the secret???) You will need weed guards for any flies on the flats because it will run out fast and you will start in the mangrove roots, so you won't want to be stuck there pulling a fly off as the tide runs out under the boat.

Click on the link below and have a look at this previous post from Graeme the Grey............it will be a WTF day for the fish on the flats?
  The Game Plan

We will send out more information on the wind as it gets closer, but be prepared for it to blow in the middle of the day.

  1. What "Madman" said there was no hurry to launch in the morning??? There is always a hurry to launch when going fishing.
